What excites you most about the WealthTech industry right now?

The ability to provide financial education and literacy to wider markets through scale created in leveraging technical solutions. The industry is changing in real-time to include a new pool of investors. These investors will need guidance as they transition from retail investor into the important phases of accumulation, risk management and decumulation.

What would you tell someone just starting out in the industry right now?

Ask all the dumb or obvious questions and trust your instincts. You’ll never know what status quo you could disrupt or challenge to break the mold beyond what it is today. Questions like “Why do we do that?” are being asked daily as tech changes the landscape of how we operate above and beyond what we did before.

What has changed the most since you started out in the industry?

Paper! While it’s still used today, many firms are making the investment and challenging their status quo to go “paperless.” Transacting digitally will be one of the greatest opportunities we have to transform how we deliver exceptional service in terms of speed, accuracy and security, just to name a few.
