Zak is an IT Technician at F2 Strategy. He specializes in system admin functions, cybersecurity, platform implementations, and cloud environment networking. Zak works to bridge technical expertise with operational acumen to solve problems, deliver solutions, and drive success for clients. Based in Southwest Florida, Zak enjoys the outdoors, usually through nature walks with his wife and their dog. He also spends his free time reading (mostly sci-fi) and playing card games with friends.

What has changed the most since you started out in the industry?

I started working in fintech in 2021, shortly after COVID, which drove a huge portion of the industry to embrace remote work. I have watched and aided in the transition from on-premise systems to their cloud-based replacements, and seen firsthand the challenges that it can present. Joining the industry in this transitionary period has given me a strong sense for cybersecurity and best practices for cloud-based systems.

What are three words that describe how you do your job?

Thorough- I have high self-standards and do my best to adhere to them in my everyday work. I like to be informed about best practices for any given task and enjoy taking my time ensuring that I am providing the best possible service and solution to a given problem.

Thoughtful- I am mindful of my interactions with those I interact with at work—both coworkers and clients. I believe good communication skills are key to conveying and understanding complex problems, and I try to leverage those skills whenever possible.

Resourceful- I enjoy tackling difficult problems, both independently or as part of a team. I consider myself an effective researcher and troubleshooter and am capable of employing creative solutions with the resources available to me.
