In early October, SS&C brought together a mix of clients, partners and internal experts to deliver maximum value for industry professionals attending its 2024 Deliver Conference. I presented two sessions at the conference and was impressed by getting to experience the depth of SS&C products outside of wealth management. Several tracks allowed me the opportunity to see how it brings technology ideas from other industries into our industry. Here’s my unbiased perspective on what I experienced at SS&C Deliver this year:
Assessing New Technology
This technology assessment topic is an important concept. There are so many new technologies appearing every day that it is hard, if not impossible for advisors to keep up with what's new, and, even more importantly, evaluate them. I was pleased to have time to present a session with Morgan Bell, Managing Director, Advisory at Constellation Wealth Capital to discuss how wealth management firms should address these new solutions in a reliable way (and not go crazy trying to look at everything).
Trust Services Emerging in RIA Space
Incorporating trust services into the RIA space is a trend we are absolutely seeing. We’re helping clients think through the process and strategy as they plan their client experience and operational integration of trust into advisory, select the right technology vendors, and integrate data. The entire journey is worthwhile, but has a lot of complexity. I’m glad to see SS&C leading the charge and providing space for this conversation, particularly in the ultra high net worth multi-family office market, because it's an important and complex part of the RIA business that is still emerging and new to a lot of firms.
