What would you tell someone just starting out in the industry right now?

Focus on building a strong understanding of the fundamentals before trying to specialize. The technology, regulations, and data landscape are constantly evolving, but a solid grasp of how the investment lifecycle works will always be valuable. Be curious, ask questions, and take every opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, as much of the industry's knowledge comes from real-world experience. Finally, develop both your technical and communication skills—being able to translate complex business requirements into practical solutions is what sets great consultants and industry professionals apart.

What has changed the most since you started out in the industry?

The pace of change has accelerated significantly since I started in the industry, with AI becoming one of the biggest topics across investment management, trading, and operations. What began as conversations around automation has evolved into firms using AI to improve data management, streamline workflows, enhance research, and support decision-making—while still relying on human expertise for oversight and judgment. At the same time, we've seen tremendous growth in private markets, creating new operational challenges around data, reporting, valuation, and technology as firms look to scale efficiently. As a result, the industry has become increasingly technology-driven, making adaptability and continuous learning just as important as traditional investment knowledge.

What are three words that describe how you do your job?

Analytical, Collaborative, Adaptable.
