What would you tell someone just starting out in the industry right now?
To ensure success, the winning combination is having a trusted mentor or peer, on-the-job training, and the willingness to research to get answers. A mentor you trust will guide you and act as a valuable resource. On-the-job training provides hands-on experience you can carry forward. As for research, technical questions can often be answered through AI and online resources. We have extensive tools at our disposal. Use them.
What has changed the most since you started out in the industry?
Base-level requirements. Previously, skills and experience drove future opportunities. Now, additional certifications and advanced degrees are often required to continue progressing in your career.
Who or what inspires you in your job?
We are working to help maintain retirement accounts and pension plans. We should do our best to ensure retirement funds are protected.
