Marty Israel is a Managing Consultant at F2 Strategy with more than 20 years of experience across investment management and asset servicing. His work has supported strategic initiatives including operating model design, regulatory data enablement, platform integration, and middle- and back-office transformation within custody, fund accounting, and fund administration environments. He has extensive experience supporting mutual funds, hedge funds, and private markets servicing models and works closely with leading technology and vendor platforms for accounting, regulatory reporting, client onboarding, and scaling operations.
Marty worked at a global fund administrator supporting alternative investment clients, where he served as a Product Manager leading multiple business and technology transformation initiatives. In this role, he implemented servicing platform enhancements to improve operational scale and client delivery across alternative investment structures.
Earlier in his career, Marty held leadership roles within fund administration operations, managing teams responsible for daily NAV production, reconciliations, transaction processing, accounting oversight, audit coordination, and control execution across complex investment portfolios. Marty is based in Boston.
I would tell them to get close to the work. The best learning does not always come from the cleanest assignments. It often comes from the messy parts of the business, such as data issues, reconciliations, client questions, regulatory requirements, system gaps, and operating model challenges. If you understand how the work actually happens, you become much more valuable. Learn the lifecycle, learn the systems, learn who owns what, and understand the downstream impact when something breaks. Technology is important, but judgment is what separates people. The strongest people are the ones who can connect business needs, operational reality, data, risk, and technology into something that actually works.
To me, Do Good with Tech means using technology to make work clearer, safer, and more scalable.
I am most passionate about helping clients turn complexity into something they can act on.
A lot of our work sits at the intersection of business strategy, operations, data, technology, and risk. That is where many firms struggle. They may know what they want to achieve, but the path is not always clear because the data is fragmented, the operating model has gaps, or the technology does not fully support the business needs.
I enjoy helping define that path. That could mean shaping a future state operating model, solving a regulatory data problem, assessing a platform or vendor, or helping a client move from a problem statement to a practical delivery plan.
The part I care about most is making the work useful. Not just producing a deliverable but creating something that helps the client plan, reduce risk, improve delivery, or move the business forward.
