Matthew is a Senior Consultant at F2 Strategy with over 20 years of experience in the industry, spanning fund accounting and administration, Agile development business ownership, and technology implementation.
Matthew spent 20 years at a large service provider in roles across fund accounting and administration. During this time, he managed large global teams and worked to optimize processes, increase productivity, and drive efficiency in a continuous pursuit of innovation. He has spearheaded numerous technology implementations focused on risk reduction, process optimization, and delivering superior client service, building strong and effective client partnerships along the way.
Matthew also brings experience in Agile business ownership. As a business product owner, he led the development and implementation of new technology supporting Money Market floating NAV as part of the 2016 Money Market Reform. Through this work, he developed strong capabilities in business requirements generation, oversight, and adapting to evolving regulatory and business environments.
More recently, Matthew has supported trust accounting operations by designing streamlined reconciliation processes and optimized reporting solutions. He has managed key initiatives end-to-end, partnering with clients to deliver measurable improvements and ensure successful adoption. Matt is based in Boston.
My advice is to focus on understanding the “why” before the “how.” Learn why firms make certain decisions, why processes exist and what challenges clients are trying to solve. Technology will continue to evolve, but curiosity, communication and the ability to solve real problems will always be an invaluable skill.
The best technology solves a real business problem. It takes something fragmented, manual, or unclear and turns it into something structured, repeatable, and useful.
I enjoy helping define that path. That could mean shaping a future state operating model, solving a regulatory data problem, assessing a platform or vendor, or helping a client move from a problem statement to a practical delivery plan.
