Matt is a Managing Consultant at F2 Strategy and brings 25 years of financial services experience across multiple disciplines, specializing in project management, operational design, and large‑scale implementation support. He has deep expertise in building and testing workflows, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining clear communication across complex initiatives. His approach emphasizes risk mitigation through well‑documented procedures and standardized operating models.

Matt supported an investment manager’s outsourcing of fund accounting and administration to the FIS InvestOne platform, where he played a central role in core conversion planning, requirements analysis, and issue resolution. His background in account processing, combined with detailed documentation of procedures, policies, and workflows, helped streamline the conversion effort. His broad securities knowledge enabled him to translate business requirements into accounting impacts, while his reconciliation experience improved accuracy and efficiency across asset and cash reconciliations.

For the past four years, Matt has been a key contributor to a large middle‑office outsourcing program, responsible for workflow development and testing, project management, account setup and validation, and transaction processing and reconciliation.

Matt previously worked at Wellington as a Senior Fixed Income Trade Coordinator, supporting trading operations from pre‑trade compliance through post‑trade settlement and reporting. His product knowledge spans fixed income, equities, foreign exchange, and derivatives, and he has experience with platforms including Omgeo Oasys, Tradeweb, Markit, and DTCC. Matt is based in Boston.

What would you tell someone just starting out in the industry right now?

If you're just starting out, focus on building a strong foundation in the basics, then learn by throwing yourself into projects as early as possible. What matters most is developing the ability to learn, solve problems, and adapt over time. Stay consistent, avoid comparing yourself to others, and work on communicating your ideas clearly.  Be flexible.  Listen to those who have been doing your job for a while and understand that their way of doing things may be different than yours.  Be willing to take risks.  Don't be afraid to reach for opportunities that may seem a bit over your head at the time.

What does the phrase, “Do Good with Tech” mean to you?

In financial services, technology should not just automate tasks or move data faster. It should reduce risk, improve transparency, strengthen controls, and help clients make better decisions.

What are you most passionate about in your role at F2 Strategy?

A lot of our work sits at the intersection of business strategy, operations, data, technology, and risk. That is where many firms struggle. They may know what they want to achieve, but the path is not always clear because the data is fragmented, the operating model has gaps, or the technology does not fully support the business needs.
