Ryan Siegel is a senior director at Aliter Investment Services, an F2 Strategy company. An investment operations professional with over 25 years of experience in financial services, he specializes in business and technology transformation and large outsourcing initiatives for global investment managers and asset servicing firms. He has extensive fund operations expertise across mutual funds, hedge funds, and insurance products and has worked with numerous industry-leading technologies. Ryan’s experience spans operating model development, investment and fund operations, fund administration, performance, compliance, and technology integration.
At Aliter, Ryan supported transitions of over $2 trillion in assets from multiple global investment managers to leading service providers, leading client conversion planning, reconciliations, and exception resolution. He also managed the transition of an investment manager’s in-house fund accounting, administration, reporting, and tax functions of $500B+ in assets to a global asset servicing provider. Previously, as Vice President at a large service provider, he oversaw daily fund accounting and custody operations for high-profile mutual fund clients and led multiple back and middle-office client conversions. Outside of work, Ryan and his wife love traveling, trying new restaurants, and exploring new places together.
I’d suggest focusing early on mastering the fundamentals and understanding how the business operates end to end. Just as important is building relationships and earning trust. This industry runs on both expertise and connections, and the combination of the two goes a long way.
Direct, Pragmatic, Driven
What inspires me most are the people I work with. Great teams make tough challenges doable, and I’ve learned a lot from leaders who lead by example and push you to think differently. Working with talented, dependable people has been key to my own success and keeps the work enjoyable.
